Sheng Siong Supermarket - embracing Hense's Fingerprint Technology for Access Control, Time Attendance,

One of our customers in October is Sheng Siong Supermarket, who is a forwarding looking supermarket chain embracing new technology like Fingerprint technology throughout their operations for enhanced security, accurate staff salary computation and productivity. 

We have completed our FS20 Fingerprint Readers installation in Sheng Siong HQ at Mandai Link for access control to their offices and stores. The left photo shows the FS20 Fingerprint reader mounted at the 3rd floor main access to the offices in the building. A difficult installation as the wiring need to be hidden and also the two glass doors are higher than most office doors but we managed to complete the installation to cusotmer's expectation.

Also, Sheng Siong's IT team is currently using our FS80 USB fingerprint scanner to explore other applications in their operation to enhance security. More updates in due course.

Sheng Siong has started using our competitor's fingerprint system for their staff time attendance at the outlets as shown in the left photo,  ZK Software LED scanner model. However, for this system, the data need to be downloaded into the USB thumbdrive and individually uploaded to HR server as they are not networked, unlike the FS20 readers that are network-based, so the data at each outlet are sent directly to the server database in Sheng Siong HQ. Also, there are issues with staff fingerprint with this reader as staff do have wet fingers after handling the cold/wet items. Thus, we have started to replace this LED fingerprint scanner with Hense FS20 Fingerprint Reader and will be deployed in phases to all Sheng Siong outlets.

Replacement of LED based Fingerprint Reader with Futronic FS20 at a Factory

We have tried to educate fingeprint technology users that not all fingerprint scanners have the same quality and reliability, silicon based scanners of course are easier damaged while LED scanner with membrane have reliability issues. Here is a customer who has used a LED based fingerprint readers but the scanner keeping getting damaged due to membrane drying up and scratches. We have successfully replaced these LED fingerprint readers with Futronic FS20 Reader which uses a maintenance-free scanner based on optical glass prism without any membrane.

Replaced with Futronic FS20 Readers using the same enclosure and the original cables including the ethernet cables.

So, customers who are still using the membrane based LED Fingerprint scanners, you have the option to change to the more robust, reliable and maintenance-free Optical Glass prism Fingerprint Readers from Futronic using existing mounting and cabling as shown in this project.

Another customer - Goodrich the wallpaper specialist

Our latest customer, Goodrich the wallpaper and wall covering specialist has chosen our FS20 Fingerprint Reader for their staff Time Attendance and Access Control. Location is at their corporate building in Changi South.

Here is one of the location at the entrance to their gallery, look at the beautiful wall covering where the FS20 Fingerprint Reader is mounted. 8 units were installed in the GoodRich building where 2 units are strictly for Time Attendance and 6 units for access to key locations including the stores. The fingerprint TA help them to automate their payroll which is very complex as they have many staff on different shifts plus overtime since they can work during odd hours.

Well, the name itself reflect the success of the company GOOD n RICH.

Fingerprint Time Attendance at Security office

One of our latest project is at Shun Li Industrial Building, here the management decides to ensure security guards show up on time for shift, they have installed a FS20 TA system. Now all the IN/OUT time of the security guards and staff are physically captured with their fingerprint and data storage in the PC.

Happy New Year and 2011 Installation - Loyang Secondary School

Happy New Year to all our readers of this fingerprint blog and wishing all a Fruitful 2011 ahead.

Well, late Dec and in Jan 2011, we are busy with schools' project and one of them is at Loyang Secondary School.

This school is in Pasir Ris and they have installed 11 units of the FS20 Fin'Lock units in the general office, staff rooms, HOD rooms, Labs and special function rooms. As the tender was awarded in late Dec, Hense Technology managed to complete the installation and commission of all the 11 units in 5 days just in time for the new school year.

This photo shows our additional service offered to remove the competitor fingerprint reader from the General Office to a special room as the usage of the room is limited so the inferior performance can be tolerated.

Nov Installation - National Junior College Staff Rooms and Student Time Attendance

One of our latest installation is at National Junior College (NJC) with our partner Simplex, for access control for Staff Rooms, HOD rooms and General office plus Students' Time Attendance with SMS notifications.

HOD Room and Staff Room main access with FS20 Fingerprint unit. This unit is mounted outdoor with a presentable cover.

Six FS20 Fingerprint Readers were installed at the various strategic locations NJC where students will come through like the main lobby, canteen and hostel entrance.

First Vietnam Customer - My Duc and Aquarius by the Park

Our first Vietnam customer is My Duc a public listed ceramic tile manufacturer, who will be using the FS20 reader for their 300++ employees for Time Attendance.

Our latest project is at Aquarius by the Park at the Bedok Reservoir where the management office is using the FS20 for staff Time Attendance. Due to the many bad press about fingerprint technology in other projects, the management wants to ensure they are satisfied with Hense's solution before moving to access control for the condo.

Installations in Mar - EM Services, Raffles Academy, Oak Cellars

March has been a busy month for us with new installation like Raffles Academy off Orchard Road. They have installed a FS20 Time Attendance System to capture their students attendance. Hope to expand to the other Raffles' sites soon.

Another installation is in the Universal Studio Sentosa for a wine retailer, Oak Cellars at the Festivewalk. They are using the FS20 for both Access Control and Time Attendancee for their Sentosa outlet staff. Oak will be using this system for all their outlets across Singapore

EM Services, one of the service provider to HDB and you will see their logo on lifts and some carparks. We installed the FS20M system on every floor of their EMS building in Bukit Merah. In the next post, we will showcase all the fingerprint scanners and their applications in Singapore.

Jurong Sec School - Another MOE project for full Fingerprint System for Time Attendance and Access Control

Well, at the beginning of Mar, I wrote about the MOE project at Crescent Girls School to wire up all the classrooms for fingerprint access control and Time Attendance. Now, together with our partner Simplex Consultants, we have been awarded another school in the West - Jurong Secondary School.

For Jurong Sec School (JSS), the project is even bigger than Crescent Girls with 80 fingerprint readers for the classrooms and staff rooms, 152 sets of EM-lock  and 12 Time Attendance with Temperature Kiosks.

All the hardware including the Fingerprint Units, EM-lock sets, backup batteries and metal casings have been delivered and stored in JSS. Installation should commence in early April to wire practically the whole school.

Installation of all the fingerprint units at Crescent Girls should complete by the end of Mar and Simplex will decide the schedule on the commission of the whole system.

MOE - Complete Time Attendance with Temperature recording and Access Control System for Schools - Crescent Girls School

Hi Everyone, took time off from the blog entry due to the Chinese New Year holidays and hope all of you had a good reunion dinner and family/friends gathering over CNY.
Well, it is back to work now and to kickoff the Tiger Year, Hense Technology together with our software partner Simplex Consultants were awarded the MOE tender to wire up Crescent Girls School with our FS21M Fin'lock for access control for all rooms (total 70 units) and another 10 fingerprint kiosks for student's Time Attendance with Temperature recording.  What a Roaring start to the Tiger Year!

Crescent Girls School, one of the prominent girls schools in Singapore located off Tanglin Road is our latest installation for 70 units of FS21M Fin'Lock and 10 Fingerprint Kiosks. Installation work started on Mar 1 and will take a month to complete.

This is a MOE project for this model school to use fingerprint access control for all the classroms and staff rooms. Massive project covering 70 rooms and 8 blocks. Photo show the classrom installation.

         

   The school has a wall poster that shows their alumni that include Ms Ho Ching, Ms Lim Hwee Hua, Ms Nanz Chong, Singer Stella Huang, etc.

Well, we will be busy for Mar and Apr as we may also be awarded another school project with the similar scale.

Tanjong Katong Secondary School - Fingerprint Time Attendance

Well, this installation at Tanjong Katong Secondary have a nostalgic effect on me since it is my secondary school from 1974 to 1978 when the school was in Tanjong Katong Road. During that time, there is a technical program from Sec 3 to Sec 4 and was Tanjong Katong Technical Secondary School. The old campus is now a student hostel while the tuckshop (which we used to call) is now a public food court.

Six Fingerprint units were installed in this school for whole school students' time attendance. For this installation, the server program was hosted on a separate PC from the server managed by HP allowing quick and hassle-fee installation and implementation.

These six FS20 Fin'Lock units were installed in different locations such as in the canteen, parade-square, side-gate, main block and library. Guess these TKS students will have fun and experience to use their fingers to clock in their daily attendance.

Hi Readers, apologized for the missing update last week, it is because I was swamped with the various fingerprint tenders in GEBIZ for schools. Over the past 2 weeks, I have seen about 8 fingerprint related tenders like:

Private institution Dimension at Kovan MRT

Together with our partner Zringgo, we installed 4 system of fingerprint Time Attendance units in Dimension so as the students attendance is automated and also a huge saving for them by dropping the card system. Dimension has over 2,000 students so using cards will be very costly and also have " buddy punching" problem, but with fingerprint solution provide a cost effective and reliable solution.

One interesting course they offer is Diploma in Food Preparation and Culinary Arts - the path to Famous Chef !!!!!!!!!! Guess they must offer good quality food on campus with such courses for the food industry.

Fingerprint Time Attendance for Childcare Centers and Kindergartens

Couple of new projects in development which are for childcare centers and kindergartens. By adapting to fingerprint technology for kids time attendance, the centers are now able to automate the time attendance for MCYS and MOE reporting and also accurately charge parents for any additional overtime.

Attached photo shows that our fingerprint reader is able to work with kids' fingers from as young as 1 year old. Using the thumb will be able to provide enough fingerprint characteristics or Minutia to differentiate uniquely.

Pokka Singapore - another installation reference

One of our fingerprint readers installation this week for time attendance and access control is at Pokka Singapore, yes, yes the drinks company that bring us famous Green Tea and Ice Lemon Tea.

The FS20 fingerprint readers are used for management offices access and time attendance for their staff. Due to the need to track IN an OUT times, the main door has two readers one for entry and the out for exit. Now without your fingers you cannot go in Pokka office and get out when the day's work is done.

Guess who is with Pokka now.... Remember Irin Gan from Mediacorp, well she is now with the marketing group. This lady still have the looks and the elegance, let's support and drink more Pokka drinks...........
